First opening in 1932 as a house museum, the Warner House will herald its 82nd season on June 1, 2014! That first year, the Warner House was largely unfurnished, the heirs understandably taking family possessions to their homes across the country. Today, however, many family furnishings and paintings have returned to the house, year after year donated back by Warner House descendants. These cherished possessions now furnish the spacious rooms, illuminating the rich life of the six generations who once called the Warner House home.

The matriarch of the Warner House was Sarah Wentworth, daughter of Lt. Gov. John Wentworth and brother of Royal Gov. Benning Wentworth. Sarah married Archibald Macpheadris in 1717 and lived in this house. The Wentworths were a large mercantile family provincial dynasty, both socially and politically, and today, many of the Wentworth descendants still live in the area. • Tour the Warner House new exhibit "300 years of Dining at the Warner House" • Food includes a lobster roll, drinks and chips! • Music by the band "Penhallow" at 1 p.m. • Archaeology table • Activities for the whole family!
