Recently, Dr. Neill De Paoli led an archaeological expedition uncovering what appear to be foundations and chimneys of the home and tavern. At 5:30 p.m., Dr. De Paoli will give a brief presentation of his findings.

WARNER HOUSE HISTORIC TIES TO SOUTH BERWICK

Nearly 300 years later, the Warner House returns to South Berwick, Maine...sort of. In 1717, first owner Capt. Archibald Macpheadris purchased the sawmill at nearby Quamphegan Falls and owned land on both sides of the Newichawonnock River (now the Salmon Falls River) in Maine and New Hampshire.  For more on the Macpheadris sawmill, Click here for the article hosted by the Old Berwick Historical Society or click here for the Fall 2007 WH newsletter.
